Stoddard County Oilseed Crushing for Biodiesel Feasibility Study
Global Fuels Inc., of Dexter, MO has expressed interest in purchasing at least 3 million gallons of vegetable oil annually and potentially as much as 15 million gallons of vegetable oil annually for conversion to biodiesel. The members of Stoddard County Oilseed Crushing will explore the feasibility of providing the vegetable oil feedstock for Global Fuels.

Tyson Foods Inc. in Dexter, MO supports the project and states that a crushing plant located in Dexter, MO would provide additional savings to Tyson from reduced transportation and demurrage cost. A local plant would “help us have a consistently direct and uninterrupted supply of soy without the added cost of additional soy storage”. The members of Stoddard County Oilseed Crushing will explore the feasibility of providing vegetable oil meal for Tyson Foods and other potential buyers.

The goals of Stoddard County Oilseed Crushing and Biodiesel Feasibility Study are to: (1) provide additional income through conversion of a commodity, to higher value components for the farmer owners of Stoddard County Oilseed Crushing and (2) to provide economic development for the rural area of Southeast Missouri.
